overview/disclaimer

i do not use and will not use spotify for any reason. that shit's annoying as hell and i dont want to deal with ads. instead, i use a fork of winamp, called wacup, which allows users to play local files - music, podcasts, and even online radio (!).

winamp is sooooo useful. i really enjoy its shuffle functionality and the way it tracks playcount. you can even use mp3tag if you have local files that don't have the right metadata (song name, artist name, etc), AND it has rich presence for discord.

anyway, easy disclaimer: some of this information is truncated because i had a few instances of fucking up the song tracking data or having to replace some song files with better, newer ones.

i also ended up waiting a couple weeks into 2025 to write this. but that's fine. i figure it fills out some of that missing data LOL.

the highlights

• most listened album: vgm: pokemon diamond and pearl OST. non-vgm: gato
• favorite radio station: cassiopeia station, a russian ambient station
• largest album: vgm: animal crossing city folk ost. non-vgm: Rainbow Warrior.
• most populated genres: vgm/soundtrack, alternative, electronic
• longest song: tropic of capricorn (edgar froese)

its hard to think of other stats that might be interesting to share, but i wanted to get this worked on before the year dragged on too much LOL... hoping to think up some new categories for next year. hehe!
