acknowledgments

huge shout outs to this gamefaqs guide by CJ800/Kelvin Tan on gamefaqs. this is was the basis for every single clover i located. as far as i can tell, this contains all the clovers, with no exceptions.

retroachievements has an achievement for all clovers, but the emulator counter only tracks 130 of them. i don't remember or care which ones.

and of course, this guide has location spoilers. you can skip past the missable clovers section and follow them in sequence as listed in the section right afterward.

missable clovers (SPOILERS)

the following places are only available once. (hover to see.)

moon cave (3 clovers)
imperial palace (3 clovers)
oni island (1 clover)
kamiki (100yrs ago) (3 clovers)
shinshu field (100yrs ago) (9 clovers)

in total, you can potentially miss up to 19 clovers. restarting the game will not retain your clover count, so you will have to start over again if you miss any. the rest of the clovers are available any time.
