love myself

a three-part 3d render in the style of an art museum gallery platform. there are three different rendered angles of a salmon-pink dogthing sculpture, sculpted from the torso up, which is holding itself comfortingly. it has a lot of flabby flesh, especially around the cheeks and under the upper arms, and the flesh has some light pinch marks where the hands are gripping. a small label reads 'forestcreature, born 199x (nineteen ninety ex). love myself, 2025. blender 3d.)

love myself

... created 2025-02-16

a personal piece i started sculpting the morning before returning home from a visit to my girlfriend. this one has a lot of emotional significance to me, and i'm really happy with how the overall form looks. i don't often do sculpts. maybe i should do more...

the color is meant to inspire the feeling of an unfinished - or rather, unbaked - clay statue. because i am also a work in progress! i tried to work with a lot of volume and weight here, especially with the underside of the upper arms - the 'wings', i guess? - and focused specifically on trying to 'grasp' at myself, to feel some amount of ownership of my shell.

i have three closeups too: one here, another here, and the third one here. there's also a solo shot that you can see here
