and i will miss the smell of fig leaves in the summer

this one is part 2! part one is here.this one i am really pushing into my own personal nostalgia. these past few months, my father and his friends have taken down the fig tree that has been in this yard since i was just a puppy, when i was like 2 years old. it was nice, even if it was 2 stories tall and hard to maintain. in the summer, the sunlight would heat up the leaves and they would give off this really nice green sweet scent. if i could encapsulate it in a perfume, i would - i would adore a perfume with fig leaf / incense-smoke / fresh grass notes, but i haven't found one that seems to fit the bill yet.

anyways - the yard is blooming in full swing, everything from the tulip trees to the sagebrush, but i find it easier to photograph in the weeds around the sagebrush itself. even with the detritus of the old growth underneath. it adds extra warmth to the original photo and i can capitalize on it really easily with light color filtering.

there's another shot from this photoshoot that i am contemplating posting still. it isn't as refined, but has more of this 'frutiger aero' blur and warmth to it that i think people might enjoy.
