i am rowan, toby, forest, swifty, doggy, etc, and i am a tme nonbinary lesbian (it/they) from remote northern california. i'm an adult who was raised on pokemon fansites (as is apparent from the website layout you see here), and have been proudly maintaining my own website for some time now.

i am a system. i also consider myself a therian and a furry. my brain's kinda weird, but i don't bite, i just write!

toby is rather serious and contemplative black fox with no visible mouth or nose. they like cold weather and forested landscapes.

forest is an orange-and-white ferret (and occasional zigzagoon) with an outgoing, jolly nature. they like the color green and saying strange things to elicit a reaction from randoms.

q: what's with the multiple names?

a: it wad plurality

q: why do you say you're a dog?

a: sometimes people are dogs. (source)

q: what is a dogthing?

a: theyre just silly dog-like creatures that are easy to draw and facilitate my own artistic experiments without feeling like i'll fuck something up. they often lack eyes or noses and sometimes mouths.

q: how did you make [xyz]?

some answers:

• i made this site with 11ty and nunjucks as my method of static site generation (and i used to use zonelets when i first started the site). you might like this tutorial.
• the rss feed is from an addon for above
• the website uses a lot of flexbox elements, which are like a more modular table that can be resized for other screen sizes etc. theyre pretty fun! i wrote a bit about it here too.
• i edit the site code in sublime text editor (it's free and it rocks!) and use that to automatically push it from github to neocities with this github action
• i draw using krita, clip studio paint, rebelle 5, ms paint, chickenpaint oekaki software, blender 3d, sculptris, aseprite (has a freeware alternative, and various traditional mediums such as oil pastels, water color, and colored pencil - i am rather eclectic!
• the quiz script is from caveofdragonflies and the styleswitcher is from a website formerly known as dynamicdrive that is now being domain-squatted. i wrote about how to use it here.
