sonar ping
... created 2025-09-06
the cutout and the watercolor grid were for separate ideas that i scrapped. the fox was for some sort of half-vent art about "i wish it was different but i can't go back and don't want to go back", while the watercolor was just meant to be patterned paper to cut up for some other thing. in the end, they fit really well together, despite not being intended to be thrown together.
i think this piece came out nice, even if i wish i'd done more to capitalize on the 'sonar ping' in the title. maybe turning the circles into dials with knobs... i don't know. still very nice to look at though.

a piece of watercolor paper with a teal-colored square patterned with a rough white grid and loose background elements, like a moon, stars, clouds, and a falling star with closed eyes. to the bottom left of this grid is a white fox cutout, facing to the left. along the bottom, below the grid, are three teal circles and a strange L-shaped orange accent.
